ABOUT ME

A Brief History

Born and raised in "Sweet Home Alabama," I grew up in the small town of Clanton, home of the famous "Chilton County Peaches"; in 2014, I moved to Auburn, which was my first time leaving the small town home that I grew up in. I chose Auburn University at a very young age as my first choice for my college career; the traditions surrounding the Auburn family and the sense of community that this university embodied eventually led me to hospitality.

Realizing early on that my passions were no longer in the veterinary school, I changed majors and spent a year in pre-business. Waiting for inspiration, it was shortly after starting a new job with BurgerFi that I discovered Auburn's hospitality program. By the spring of 2017, I had officially changed my major to hospitality management because I realized that this program would refine my passion for creating unique environments through serving and providing a sense of comforting individuality that revolutionizes the way that businesses can develop a loyal customer base and a secure standing within all of the facets of hospitality, but specifically in my interests of the tourism, travel, and lodging specialities of hospitality management.

MY INSPIRATION

My Role Model; A Brief Idea of My Personality

Family has always been extremely important to me. There is no experience like what we share with our loved ones. Those unique feelings are vital to developing our worldly perspectives. Working in the Hospitality Industry, I hope to always take on the opportunity of enhancing those experiences for guests in my future positions.

Growing up I was the middle of three girls and often found myself frustrated by childish circumstances. Through many of those situations I was blessed to have the advice of my grandmother - wanted or not. For as long as I can remember she has been my role model. She presented herself in a way that to this day is unmatched. I never once saw her expression change from her usual calm and collected, and no matter the situation, she never yelled (that I know of). My grandmother always took into perspective the mindset of others, the importance of the matter, and the fact that every moment is one of a kind. It’s through this perspective that I believe my grandmother was always loved and respected by her peers. Though I could speak about her for hours, I know I’d never feel like the picture was complete. She was a blessing to all who met her, and I thank her for making me the person I am today.

Through her many lessons my grandmother gave me the core beliefs and values I live by daily. Through example, she showed how beneficial it is to look at the potential teaching moment in a situation rather than allow your emotions to interfere with your logical thought process.

As a leader, I hope to continue to apply these lessons and beliefs to my professional life as well. I not only feel it is beneficial, but I see it as my strongest passion and motivator. Her impact on me alongside the years spent here at Auburn  have made me confident in my instincts and ability to handle whatever comes my way.
